Happy Tuesday! And this is a great theme, one favorite book for each year! Here’s my list!
2009: City of Glass by Cassandra Clare

This book was published long before I had even heard of Shadowhunters, I was in primary school that time. But the thing I remember about this special book in the Mortal Instruments series is that this one was my favorite. It finally revealed that Jace and Clary are, in fact, not siblings and I couldn’t imagine how the books would continue without Valentine!
2010: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Again, long before I discovered The Hunger Games, but definitely my favorite book of that year!
2011: Mythos Academy #1 by Jennifer Estep

I would never read this series again, but a couple of years ago, I really loved Jennifer Estep’s Mythos Academy. By the way, terrible terrible cover. I’m glad I read it as an e-book.
2012: Various books, this was a good year

Cinder, the first book in the Lunar Chronicles!!! I love this series so much, I only read it last year but OMG! The characters and the plot are so extraordinary, this series is epic!

Shadow and Bone is a series I only read recently but enjoyed immensely. Leigh Bardugo simply writes great books, nobody can deny that.

The Fault in our Stars is by far my favorite book by John Green. The story is just incredibly touching, tragic and thought provoking, I had to put it on my list as well!
2013: Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

Scarlet, the second book in the Lunar Chronicles! It was a little slow at first, but then it hit me and it was incredible.
I’m only choosing this book, but the sequel to Selection was also published that year, so that’s noted!
2014: Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo

Ruin and Rising, the finale of Leigh Bardugo’s trilogy was truly great! I loved that ending and was soooo sad to leave Nikolai behind, but only temporary.
2015: Various books, it was a good year

Most importantly, Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo! I was waiting for that one the whole list and now it has to share its place! But it definitely is my favorite!!!

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard is one of my favorite series in the whole world because of the rebellion, politics and revolution all in one! This series has everyone one needs!

Winter, the finale of the Lunar Chronicles, was purely spectacular! The showdown was epic and I was so sad to end this series and leave all the sweet characters behind.
2016: Various books, AMAZING YEAR

Lady Midnight introduced me to Cassandra Clare and then opened the world of YA for me, therefore it holds a special special part in my heart.

My Lady Jane is one of the most hilarious books I’ve ever read. Literally, I laughed from the first to the last page. Great humor.
Please note Crooked Kingdom and Glass Sword (and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – not my favorite tho).
2017: The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

Praise for The Hate U Give! This book really opens your eyes and makes you realize what issues our politicians refuse to ignore, or at least, one of them.
Please also note Caraval by Stephanie Garber and Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare!
2018: Various, great year

I was so sad to end The Dark Artifices with the release of Queen of Air and Darkness, but the ending was truly amazing.

With the release of War Storm, my favorite series Red Queen ended as well. That year destroyed me.

I read The Cruel Prince by Holly Black during summer break and I’m super happy I decided to give into the hype and buy it. Ok, I bought it because Victoria Aveyard wrote a comment. Guilty.
2019: The Wicked King by Holly Black

The ending of The Wicked King destroyed me and I can’t wait for the sequel to damage me some more. Brilliant book.
Please also note King of Scars, although I haven’t finished it yet!
Those are my favorite books of the last ten years, sorry, not really only ten, but I couldn’t decide! I hope you enjoyed this post and have a great day!
