I haven’t had the time to read all week and I’m super mad about it… Too many zoom conferences where teachers tell me nothing new, too many essays and math problems to solve and too much time spent on TikTok. So I’m happy to at least have the time to write my favorite tag – Let’s Talk Bookish, hosted by Rukky @Eternitybooks: today, I’ll be talking about how many books I own, how I organize them, where I buy my books. Basically, everything one needs to know about books (personalized version – my books)!

How many books I own
Too many (well you can never have too many if you love them, but for the sake of my space, too many). I would say about 500 – and I’m super thankful that my parents are willing to buy my books, so I definitely don’t take that for granted! I know it’s a bad habit of mine, but I don’t like borrowing books, they’re something super personal for me and so I just don’t like it when other people have read them as well…
My bookshelves – I took the pics today!

I own three bookshelves at my mum’s house (the ones you can see here) and two at my dad’s. I have some pictures of me and family members, some pictures my best friend drew/painted for me and that’s basically it. For a full bookshelf tour: click here!

Just thought I’d show my Harry Potter collection and the Cassandra Clare shelf as they’re so aesthetically pleasing as they both fill exactly one shelf haha.

And then here we have the classics, biographies and poems on the top shelf, my all-time favorites in the middle and then some rest random faves at the bottom!
Where do I buy most of my books?
I try to buy most of my books at the two local bookstores where I live. But, tragically, it often happens that I really want to read a book super badly and if the bookstore doesn’t have it, I’ll order it through Amazon Prime. I know it’s bad, buying books and ordering them online are my two super bad habits… Don’t judge!
Ultimate favorite bookstore: Waterstones – Regent St!
Waterstones on Regent Street in London is my ALL-TIME favorite bookstore and not only because it has every book you could ever want, but because of its interior design! It has flowers, globes, Harry Potter book items and it used to have soooo many different book quotes at the café downstairs, but they took them down… And they have the BEST collection of Penguin classics…
Book store discoveries!
My whole family spends the summer at my grandma’s house in Vienna and this year, my dad introduced me to Shakespeare & Company: a tiny English bookstore right in the centre of Vienna! Super cute, full of ladders because the store is cramped with shelves…

Then this fall in Paris, I discovered WH Smith near my hotel! It’s the biggest English bookstore in Pairs, it’s not super big, but really cool! It even has a small extra room full of British stuff: tea, biscuits, Royals items and Harry Potter things!
That’s it for today, I hope you enjoyed this slightly different post! Have a great weekend and happy reading!
Loved reading this! Also your shelves looks great!
I love Waterstones! We have one in the Netherlands, but I loved the big one in London, me and my friends spent hours there when we visited London haha!

Thanks so much!!! And yes waterstones is the best! Where I go to school in Germany we also don’t have them and that’s so sad because I rarely find English bookstores 🥺
