Paris Book Haul + adventures!

To write a little different post than normal, I thought I’d share my Paris adventures, pictures and the books I bought! I hope you enjoy this small post!

The books i bought

I actually discovered this book as an Instagram advertisement but immediately thought it would probably make up a really great book!

It’s about a girl, Luisa, escaping London and finding refuge as a nurse at Asthall Manor where she accepts a job as the nurse of the six Mitford Sisters and especially the 16 year old Nancy. When a nurse is murdered on a train, Luisa and Nancy find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation…

I’ve already read the first 50 pages and so far, it’s been nothing but great and so I am really excited about how it’ll develop!

The second book I bought is this fantastic-sounding thriller I’ve come across on book tube that deals with mental health. I’ve never been a person to read a lot about mental health problems as it always puts me in a bad/sad mood for a very long time after reading (for me, that genre is depressing and reading is, again for me, supposed to be fun and entertaining).

Anyways, the plot sounds super intriguing as it follows the story of a woman who never leaves her house but looks at at the street through her window instead. When she sees something she shouldn’t have happening to her new neighbors across the street, she is suddenly entangled in a very suspicious murder…

some pictures of my visit!

A café where we ate a Croque Monsieur, a delicious French sandwich my mum sometimes makes for me because I love it! If you look closely at the picture, you’ll find the Eiffel tower!

To be quite honest, I don’t love the Eiffel Tower as it ruins the old, majestic architecture of Paris… However, to be fair, it looks brilliant in the dark with its lights!

Because I am a huge fan of cities in the dark, here’s one featuring the Saine!

And last but not least, a rainy picture of the Louvre – sadly, we didn’t make it in! I really wanted to take a look at the Mona Lisa, even though everyone keeps telling me it’s tiny, super disappointing and there’s always a huge group of people taking turns looking at it – I need to see for myself!

I hope you enjoyed this book haul and also the pictures I took! Happy reading!

  1. Oh Paris! I dream of being able to go there one day! I will not have lived a good life if I have never visited France, ESPECIALLY IF I AM MAJORING IN FRENCH STUDIES! It looks like you had a beautiful trip, perhaps next time you will get to see the Mona Lisa!

      1. Aw thanks! Well where I’m from (Canada) French is an official language so lots of people choose to study it. And I’ve always loved being able to speak different languages (I speak Spanish as well) so I decided to make it my degree!
