Top Ten Tuesday: Characters that remind me of myself

This is such a great idea for today’s TTT! Here are the characters that remind me of myself!

#1 Hermione Granger

Don’t get this the wrong way. Hermione is smart and beautiful and she doesn’t remind me of myself because of these characteristics, but because she has determination and because she is a nerd and would never break any school rules which, sadly, is me. I’m a nerd and sometimes it bothers me that I take school that seriously because I really stress myself and don’t know how to handle that.

Now, if you two don’t mind, I’m going to bed before either of you come up with a clever idea to get us killed – or worse, expelled.

Sadly, this is 100% me.

#2 Jane Penderwick

Jane Penderwick inspired me to be me. When I first read the Penderwicks in first grade, I wanted to become an author because 10 year old Jane Penderwick was aspiring to be one. She loves reading, tears up about a three on a paper (totally me, I’m dramatic), she wants to become an author (which I don’t want to anymore, but wanted – still as a hobby, tho) and she’s very dramatic (me).

#3 Jane Grey

Jane in My Lady Jane reminded me so much of myself because she would rather spend all day reading at home than try and find the perfect husband. In my case, it would be read instead of parties, alcohol and night outs. I love hanging with my friends, but I strongly dislike going out at night or dancing and drinking, and so I think I’m like her, if she’d be living in our century.

#4 Cath

I’m Cath from Fangirl when it comes to going to college and you know nobody. I hate going somewhere alone. I’m that person who is afraid to go somewhere like a birthday party and show up alone, I need to arrive with a friend. I’m really bad at handling those situations, haha. I should probably work on my self-esteem. But it’s totally different in school: I have no problem speaking up or saying what I think even if my classmates disagree.

#5 Nina Zenik

I feel like I’m listing great personalities here and giving high expectations about myself and then I absolutely use the most unglamorous parts about that person. I’m not referring to the strong, powerful Nina in Six of Crows, but to the girl who loves to eat and has an appetite that doesn’t match her figure. I love food. When you lay anything infant of me, I assure you, I will eat it.

#6 Alina Starkov

Sometimes I also think I’m a little like Alina from Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. Nothing like the powerful leader of the Second Army, but the simple soldier who doesn’t have any real talents or remarkable features. Not like the great tracker Mal, but just an insignificant girl. Hopefully I’ll get a change and glow up like her, haha.

#7 Cress

I wish I could be listing Cinder or Scarlet, but I’m Cress from Marissa Meyer’s Lunar Chronicles. I’m shy when it comes to meeting new people and I haven’t tried out many things like hobbies or something whereas she lived in a satellite all her life, lame comparison, I know.

#8 Drusilla Blackthorn

I also feel like Dru in Queen of Air and Darkness because she hasn’t really found her place yet. And even though I have passions such as reading and writing and I have goals in life, sometimes I feel like I’m not really whole and haven’t found my exact spot yet. And I don’t have to know everything this early in life, I’m aware of that, you don’t have to have everything figured out in life as a teenager. It’s just sometimes, I wish I had. It would make it easier.

That’s pretty much everyone I can think of that reminds me of myself, and so I’ll just list number 9 and 10 who I wish I was!

#9 Mare Barrow

I would love to have the strength, power and determination Mare has in Red Queen. Don’t get me wrong, I’m extremely grateful for my family and the way and where I was raised and I wouldn’t change it in the world for Mare’s tragic situation, but it would be cool to achieve such greatness at such young age like leading a revolution and being responsible for saving millions of people from a reign of terror.

#10 Inej or Kaz Brekker

I’m afraid I can’t decide if I’d rather be cool and smart like Kaz or strong, fierce and determined like Inej. I’ve always loved these characters and in fact, it would be cool if I was any of them.
