Top Ten Tuesday: Inspirational Book Quotes

It’s Tuesday once again and I love today’s theme! One of the infinite reasons why I read books are the quotes that can help you, make you laugh, tear up because of memories or that are inspirational! Here are my favorite inspirational quotes!

#1: Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

Winston Churchill
I’m a fan of Churchill and so this is a great way to start. My dad introduced me to him by watching the movie starring Gary Oldman and I must admit, he’s pretty cool.

#2: May you live every day of your life.

Jonathan Swift
This is so true, is all I’m going to say.

#3: It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.

JK Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
This is by far one of my favorite HP quotes because in my opinion, it sometimes takes more bravery and courage to stand up to the ones you love because you don’t want to hurt their feelings and I think it’s something that has to be acknowledged.

#4: It’s a metaphor, see: You put the killing thing right between your teeth, but you don’t give it the power to do its killing.

John Green, The Fault in Our Stars
I just love this quote, and although I wouldn’t go as far as Augustus Waters and always chew on a cigarette, but he do has a point.

#5: No one ever says goodbye unless they want to see you again.

John Green, Turtles all the way down
I don’t know, I loved this last sentence and I often wish it were true.

#6: What’s the point of having a voice if you’re gonna be silent?

Angie Thomas, The Hate U Give
It was probably because of this quote written on the cover of the book that I fell in love with it because I wish more people were like Starr. So many people witness crime or abuse but don’t speak up about it.

#7: When people say impossible, they usually mean improbable.

Leigh Bardugo, Siege and Storm
We can all learn something from Nikolai. He is wiser than expected.

#8: I could set this world on fire and call it rain.

Victoria Aveyard, Red Queen
This is more of a thought-provoking quote. I love it.

#9: I will have you without armor, Kaz Brekker, or I will not have you at all.

Leigh Bardugo, Six of Crows
It’s far harder to think of 10 inspirational quotes than I thought, so the last two will just be some of my general favorites…

#10: After all this time? – Always.

JK Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
This is one of my favorite quotes ever and I tear up a little every time. I would have put “Just because you have the emotional range of a teaspoon, doesn’t mean we all have.” at the end, but it would ruin the theme completely.

I hope you enjoyed today’s theme and have a great day!

I'm a huge fan of Draco Malfoy, I love scones and tea time, I don't like horror movies and obviously I'm a huge book nerd.
