I’m not really psyched about going back to school in two days – I mean who is, it’s about to get serious?! – and therefore I thought maybe I’ll get in the spirit while writing my blog! So here’s a Back to School book tag with each subject!!!
#1 English – Name your favorite author’s / book’s writing style
Well, this is a ruff start. I personally love John Green ‘s writing style and am a huge fan of Leigh Bardugo’s Six of Crows writing as it just makes the plot 500% better.
#2 Math – a book that made you frustrated
The Truman Show. THE TRUMAN SHOW. *no picture necessary*
#3 Science – a book that made you think or question things
Again, I’d say that John Green does this best, in my point of view. Off all the books I’ve read so far written by John Green, I think The Fault in Our Stars followed by Turtles all the way down made me think about quite a lot of stuff concerning life, health and happiness.
#4 History – your favorite book from a different time period
I know this is pathetic as obviously historical novels are asked here but I must admit I’m not a fan of historical novels and so I’ve chosen Leigh Bardugo’s Six of Crows Duology because it takes place in the Amsterdam-isnpired Ketterdam during the time carriages, horses and ships dominated the world of travel.
#5 Art – your favorite book with pictures
This is evidently a very difficult question to answer because my parents read me thousands of book with pictures (thanks again for that, without you I wouldn’t have become a bookworm).
My favorite children’s books were Astrid Lindgren’s The Six Bullerbü Children but I’m not sure if they’re popular in the UK/US as my parents read them to me in their mother tongue. All I can say to this: I ADORED THESE BOOKS.
#6 Drama – a book you would love to see turned into a movie
I would love to see all of my my favorite books turned into movies as I LOVE watching movies but I’m almost always disappointed as I imagined the characters to look different – or sometimes the writers change the book plot (like Shadowhunters, the movie not the series).
However, I’d love to see a version of Caraval by Stephanie Garber due to the setting and a version of Kerstin Gier’s Silver due to the funny jokes and awesome characters. I’m too shy to wish for a movie of Jeanne Birdsall’s Penderwicks though, as the characters live on in my head and the movies couldn’t reach the books anyways.
#7 Music – name a character that you think has the same musical taste as you do
This is officially impossible but I’ll just turn it around: the character I know likes the music I dislike is Jeffrey Tifton and then later Batty Penderwick from Jeanne Birdsall’s Penderwicks – classic. It’s not that I hate classic music, I have come to like some pieces but they’re just too few pieces to actually say I like classic music…
#8 Lunch – a food from a book you want to try
This is the fastest answer that popped into my head: but the food served at Hogwarts in the Great Hall. That’s obvious, isn’t it?
#9 Bus ride home – a book or a author that is relaxing
That’s easy: I can always relax reading Jeanne Birdsall’s Penderwicks and my mom would even play me the audio book when I was sick.
#10 Extra Credit – a book someone else told you to read and you ended up enjoying it
My best friend read Zoe Sugg’s (probably known to the world as Zoella) Girl Online during our vacation in Spain. On just the second day, I sprained my toe and had to stay at home. As I had to stay at home most of the time, she recommended this book to me and I loved it!!!
That’s all for the Back to School Book Tag, to be honest I’m still not in the mood for school – anyways, I hope you enjoyed it!!
