Top Ten Tuesday: favorite places to read

It’s Tuesday everyone and that can only mean one thing: another Top Ten Tuesday hosted by Jana @thatartsyreadergirl. And today is a great topic: I’ll be counting down my top ten fave places to read!! Finding good comfy reading spots is soooo important, so here we go!

#1 My aunt’s garden

It’s a very specific number 1 to start with, but every aspect of my aunt’s garden screams a peaceful reading session: the sofas, nobody but me there, the grass and flowers and the music… I love to spend my weekends there, read, swim and simply forget everything around me…

#2 At the beach

This picture was taken at the Cote d’Azur in 2019, meaning I have not had the chance to experience this awesome feeling of reading a cheesy book at the beach for some time due to covid. But swimming in the ocean, then tanning until you’re warm again and then reading a cheesy romance with sunnies and a bucket hat that’s too big for inconvenient small hat is the way to go. In Cannes, at that time, I read the Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren and it served as the PERFECT beach read.

#3 Sitting alone in a restaurant

This is a sensation I learnt recently – I actually love sitting alone at a restaurant and bringing a book along. I discovered this awesome feeling when I was on vacation with my mom and her boyfriend in Italy: I was always faster in getting ready – dinner and breakfast – so I came down to the restaurant and often read for half an hour before the others came down. And I loved the feeling of being alone and calm, but still surrounded by people. Either drinking coffee in the morning, or ordering a drink in the evening and enjoying, here, Conversation with Friends by Sally Rooney.

#4 My bed

This is not me reading in bed, but the activity (besides sleeping) I love most: eating my breakfast while watching Modern Family. I developed this routine during the first Lockdown and now, whenever it’s possible and I eat alone – I watch Modern Family while eating in bed lol. But reading is just as fun. PS: one of my signature snaps, as my friends will confirm haha.

That’s it – to be honest, anywhere comfortable will do, which is why I will end the list here. I’m pretty flexible, as long as I’m not falling of my chair or being surrounded by too many talkative people… So tell me, where’s your favorite reading spot? Happy (and comfortable) reading!!!!

I'm a huge fan of Draco Malfoy, I love scones and tea time, I don't like horror movies and obviously I'm a huge book nerd.
