Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Tropes

I don’t have much time for my favorite tag (this one haha) today, as I spent the entire day with one of my best friends in Vienna and then went out for dinner with my dad! Anyways, here’s the short version!

#1 The Chosen One

Ok, let me explain. There are some great series featuring that trope. And if it’s well structured and has a great story, than this is what I’d immensely enjoy. Let’s take Harry Potter for example.

#2 Heists

I mean, who wasn’t blown away by Six of Crows… Personally, I love action packed literature, I don’t need it all the time, but some high fantasy novels are awesome…

#3 Boarding School

This might or might not have something to do with the fact that I’m still waiting for an owl that’ll get me to Hogwarts… But this trope just gives you this extra atmosphere that normal schools and other locations can’t equip you with…

#4 The gang of misfits

This is just perfect. Six of Crows? Any book where misfits come together to plan a master escape or heist – count me in.

#5 The team

Yes, this is obvious. Who doesn’t love to read about a killer group of friends with the funny one, the dumb one, the smart one – I just hope that the good literature is a little more diverse that this.

#6 The Bookworm

Ah, when characters quote classics like Shakespeare or Egar Allan Poe – that’s what I’ll look forward to. We have Cassandra Clare and the Infernal Devices to look up to – no series ever matched that one or CC in general.

#7 Childhood Friendships

This is just the best – growing up with someone and then keeping the person close all your life. So far, I’ve done pretty good with my bestie, but I’d love to see that in books!

#8 Secret societies

That’s just too exciting to explain.

That’s it for today – I’m pretty tired, so I’ll stop here! Happy reading!

I'm a huge fan of Draco Malfoy, I love scones and tea time, I don't like horror movies and obviously I'm a huge book nerd.
