Birthday Book Haul

It was my birthday yesterday and I got many many books, yay! And because I have time today and just have to bake another cake for a school bake sale, here’s all the books I got yesterday!

My uncle’s gift to me was, traditionally, the sequel to The Case for Jamie, A Question of Holmes. I love Brittany Cavallaro’s retelling of Holmes and Watson and I’ve already read the iBooks sample of this book and I’m incredibly excited!!!

I got this GORGEOUS edition of Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist from my dad. I actually watched the movie with him (I’m usually not the person who only watches the movie) and now I’m happy to read the book. I hope this classic will be more interesting to me than others I have tried so far!

My dad also got me Hermann Melville’s Moby-Dick. I think he really wants to educate me in classic literature (love you, daddy!). I have heard many different opinions about this book, but many young people say it was boring. However, I hope it can impress me, it’s not a classic without reason!

A book I’m really really really excited about is The Rise and Fall of the D.O.D.O by Neal Stephenson and Nicole Galland. My dad gave me this book after researching for a long time about books I liked and so I believe this is a great choice for me! It’s science fiction, fantasy, time travel and historical fiction – I can’t wait.

My mom’s best friend gave me this book as a joke because he always helps me with maths – but I actually love it. How Not to Be Wrong is one of Bill Gates’ favorite books and since I’m really interested in maths (if you understand the topic, it’s soooo fun), I hope I’ll enjoy the book!

I got some more books but these are the ones I’m most interested in and can’t wait to read, so I’ll end here! I hope you enjoyed this small post and have a great day!

I'm a huge fan of Draco Malfoy, I love scones and tea time, I don't like horror movies and obviously I'm a huge book nerd.

  1. Happy late birthday! I specifically asked for books for my last birthday. I specifically wanted my friend’s and family’s favorite books. Not everyone participated but I did get quite a few new books. Best birthday ever.
