Would you rather book tag

I saw this tag over at Sarah Stubb’s blog – definetely go check her out!!! – and thought it was a cute idea, especially since me and my friends used to play a lot of would you rather during lunch break!

Read only trilogies or stand-alones?

Easy question! Although I have warmed up to stand-alones throughout the years (I hated, hated, hated them when I was younger), I would definitely only read trilogies because a good trilogy trumps everything! Imagine living without The Infernal Devices & The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare, Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo, The Folk of the Air by Holly Black, Silver by Kerstin Gier and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I don’t think it needs further explanations.

Read only female or male authors?

I don’t actually read books based on the author’s gender, but to be fair, I’ve noticed that I almost never read books written by men. The only books by male authors are the ones from John Green and George R.R. Martin. Ooops.

Hardback or paperback?

Paper!!! I love it when they flop, that you can fold them and that they crinkle at their spine (fascinating!).

All books become movies or TV shows?

Let’s leave Harry Potter out of the question because they deserved an Oscar. I would tend to TV shows as they have more capacity to put all the details, dialogues and small side-stories into the show while movies are always limited… For example, I strongly disliked The Mortal Instruments movie with Lily Collins while I love Shadowhunters on Netflix. Btw, the movie made soooo many plot mistakes, I was permanently cursing.

Read five pages per day or five books per week?

Ohhhh, that’s hard! I don’t have a lot of time during the week to read so I mostly read on weekends, but I would say five books a week because I wouldn’t be able to stand not reading.

Be a professional reviewer or author?

As a kid, I always wanted to be a author when I grow up and even though I have left that dream behind, I would still chose it. Don’t get me wrong, I love writing and I will hopefully still write when I’m grown up, but only as a hobby.

Only read your top 20 books over and over or only read new books you’ve never read before?

Definetely new books! I love to reread my favorites from time to time, but I can’t say that I have reread all of my favorite books. When I reread, I usually skip the “boring” parts where the authors explains something relevant to the story but which isn’t that interesting, so I wouldn’t be suited for only rereading.

Be a librarian or a bookseller?

I have this dream, that when everything in my life is the way I wanted it to be, I’d open a small bookshop like “The Shop around the Corner” from You’ve got mail, because it would be amazing to own a little shop where everything is personal, so definetely a bookseller.

Only read your favorite genre or everything except your favorite genre?

My favorite genre is fantasy, so I would definetely chose that because often contemporary isn’t my thing, just something I read in between two fantasy books.

Only read physical books or ebooks?

Definetely physical. I know it’s not the best thing in the world as ebooks are better for the environment and everything, but I tend to never finish a book I read as an ebook. I don’t know why, but I have to hold the book in my hands to really get carried away!

I hope you enjoyed this small tag and I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I'm a huge fan of Draco Malfoy, I love scones and tea time, I don't like horror movies and obviously I'm a huge book nerd.

  1. I really enjoyed reading this 🙂 I also mainly read female authors haha! And would definitely prefer TV shows! Besides it capturing more details, I could also enjoy it for longer!
