Cover Design Contest

I saw this cute post over at Kaya’s blog and I thought it was an incredible cool idea and so I decided to do one as well! I’ll be comparing the Best Books of the Decade from the 2000s to the 2010’s (I chose the Goodreads Decade lists, if anyone cares 🙂 )

Nr. 1

Tough choice between Harry Potter and The Fault in Our Stars! But even though Harry Potter is my favorite series ever, I must go with John Green’s masterpiece of cover! The blue, black and white theme is just breathtaking and I love the chalk writing! So 1 point for the 2010’s!

Number 2

Ahhhh, this is very difficult because I’m not a big fan of either of those covers! But because I think Veronica Roth’s cover is not my style at all, I’m going to go with Suzanne Collins’ cover! 1 Point for the 2000s!

Number 3

What to choose, what to choose… I think I’m going with the good old Harry Potter because the greenish color is so intriguing! 1 Point for the 2000s!

Number 4

Even though Gone Girl is a very cool cover with the black, white and red combination, but I have always loved the cover of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire because the glitter and the color combination is so fantastic and Harry looks very cute haha! 1 Point for the 2000s!

Number 5

Why is there so much Harry Potter on this list! It’s clouding my judgment!!! I am both intrigued by the two colors because the blue theme and the red-orange theme both look so cool! In the end, I’ll go with The Martian because I can’t give Harry extra treatment just because it’s my favorite; no, seriously, Andy Weir’s cover looks great! 1 Point for the 2010’s!

Number 6

Clear choice! I am in love with All the light we cannot see! 1 Point for the 2010’s!

Number 7

Both orange but totally different. While I like both covers, I think I’ll go with The Help because I like its classic layout, you know what I mean? 1 Point for the 2000s!

Number 8

While I don’t enjoy both of these covers, seriously, who comes up with them?, I do prefer Catching Fire because Clockwork Angel is mortifying1 Point for the 2000s!

Number 9

I’m torn between a book I never read and one of my favorites. But the book I never read, Life of Pi, has an incredibly pretty cover. I’m usually not the type of girl that buys a book judging its cover (I used to be at the age of 8 or so), but I would seriously die for that cover… 1 Point for the 2000s!

Number 10

Both black, white and red, but so down right different. The Night Circus 100%! 1 Point for the 2010’s!

That was my contest and the winner is…. the 2000s winning with 6 to four! To be honest, I had predicted that outcome because of Harry Potter! But there were some great 2010’s covers as well! I hope you enjoyed this small contest and have a great day!

I'm a huge fan of Draco Malfoy, I love scones and tea time, I don't like horror movies and obviously I'm a huge book nerd.
