Top Ten Tuesday: New-to-me authors I read in 2018

This post fits 100%. I have never read more books from new-to-me authors than this year because I think I have never read more books than in 2018! That might or might not have something to do with my blog because it keeps me busy! Anyways: Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish, but is now moved to That Artsy Reader Girl!

#1 Leigh Bardugo

Yes, can you believe that I have survived all these years without Six of Crows? I had heard of Six of Crows before but not of the particular author and so I have only heard of Leigh Bardugo in AUGUST! It’s a shame, I know!

#2 Marissa Meyer

The same applies for Marissa Meyer’s Lunar Chronicles. I can’t believe I had literally never heard of this series before. I came across it because many many bloggers praised all of Marissa Meyer’s series. This series is seriously one of my favorites now!!!

#3 Holly Black

I can’t believe that Holly Black Wicked King is out already and I haven’t read it yet!! I heard of Holly Black before when I read Cassandra Clare because they wrote a series together (which I haven’t read), but I had never read anything from her before 2018! My mistake!

#4 Cynthia Hand

My Lady Jane has made my year! It’s the absolute funniest book I read in 2018 and I still can’t believe that Jane’s story is over! I hope the authors write another story destroying England’s history!!

#5 Sabaa Tahir

It’s basically the same here. The blogger community has been PRAISING the third book of this series which made me start with the first. Basically, I get every book from other bloggers.

#6 Stephanie Garber

I’m so glad I got to know Caraval!!! Simply because the created world was so magical it threw me off my feet! And I know I haven’t read the sequel yet, but this series is a great example of confusion, conspiracy and mysteries…

#7 Maggie Stiefvater

It feels like a million years ago that I read The Raven Cycle, but it was December 2017 and January 2018! How time flies!!!

#8 Neal Shusterman

I loved Scythe! It was just so different from all the other worlds that were already created! A perfect world is something we don’t get often, but then a flaw in perfection? This book was amazing!

#9 Christina Lauren

I’m so glad I read this in 2018! Even if it was December! Christina Lauren story was a great side book!

#10 Elizabeth Acevedo

Elizabeth Acevedo’s book The Poet X was a really spontaneous book but I’m really glad I read it! Her writing style is really special as this book is composed in poems, but it was magical to read and the poems really underlined the feeling!

That was my list of all the new-to-me authors I read in 2018! It was pretty hard actually, because despite the many new series I read throughout this year, I knew most of the authors and had read other of their books or read sequels or their first work! I hope you enjoyed this small post and have a great day!

I'm a huge fan of Draco Malfoy, I love scones and tea time, I don't like horror movies and obviously I'm a huge book nerd.
