It’s Wednesday again and that means that it’s time for weekly reading update! I’m currently lying at the beach typing this into my phone, so let’s hope I can be productive!
#1 What are you currently reading?
I am finally able to read Christina Lauren’s new novel The Unhoneymooners! I laid it aside to read it at the beach, but the second I had the physical copy in my hand I was tempted to start. And I couldn’t have been more wrong: I am really enjoying this light read! The story is definitely no literary masterpiece, the plot is quite see through – but it’s entertaining and funny, and that’s exactly what I wanted for the beach!
#2 What was the last book you read?
To be honest, the last book I finished was Madeline Miller’s Circe – but I’ve been reading to other books since. The one, Sapiens, which I’m planning to continue after my vacay, and the other one, A Visit from the Goon Squad, which I will probably not continue at home. Not that I didn’t like it, it’s just that I have a problem with laying the book aside to start another and then picking it up again when I have a whole spectrum of other new and intriguing books for grabs. There’s no doubt I’ll continue Sapiens as it’s breathtaking and also accompanying me on this trip as a backup (which I will need because I’m speeding through The Unhoneymooners!).
#3 What do you think you’ll read next?
Honestly, I have no idea (I’ll definitely continue Sapiens, but after that I have all the books in the world…). It could be that because I am enjoying this funny contemporary read so much, that I will go on and read Royals by Rachel Hawkins right afterwards, but it could also be that I’ll be annoyed by the the light read genre and read either Enchantée as a YA book or How Democracies Die as a non-fiction!
That’s it – I hope this post is acceptable (remember, I am typing this on my phone, so please don’t hate🤓) and have a great day and happy reading!
