WWW Wednesday

It’s the day before me and my family are heading off into the alps to go hiking and spending the days at the pool like every year – so I won’t have much time to blog for the next few days. However, I will have some quiet time to read, so I hope my reading situation will be interesting!

#1 What are you currently reading?

In desperate search of a contemporary novel, I picked up Jennifer Egan’s A Visit from the Goon Squad at the small book store in Vienna me and my dad usually go there – unfortunately, they don’t offer a lot of English books, so I grabbed this one without ever informing myself nor having heard of this author. I am not quite sure what to think of this book as its not YA and the protagonists are in their mid-thirties and even forties – there are some youth chapters however. So we’ll see how it develops – more later!

#3 What was the last book you read?

Two days ago, I finished Circe. Overall, I really enjoyed the protagonist (Circe herself!) and the writing and atmosphere were phenomenal. However, the book itself didn’t have a concrete story line (which I need to absolutely love a book), but was rather Circe’s life as a story – meaning, almost all the pages I was waiting for something grand to happen to boost the story into a certain direction, but it never came. The ending, although, was again, spectacular, so I am, overall, very glad to have read it!

#3 What do you think you’ll read next?

I ordered Rachel Hawkins’s Prince Charming as a light contemporary novel to read by the pool. I am very excited to dive into the royal world in Scotland and have the protagonist dealing with all the whits and extras of belonging to the royal family….

I’m especially excited because I’ve heard from many bloggers that this is a very funny and cute read and right about now, I need a little vacation from fantasy!

That’s it, I’m taking a little break from the busy city life to relax in the middle of endless mountains, trees and clouds. Happy reading!

Author: Blogger Books

I'm a huge fan of Draco Malfoy, I love scones and tea time, I don't like horror movies and obviously I'm a huge book nerd.

  1. Hiking in the Alps sounds like an excellent way to spend time, and lounging by the pool sounds even better. Hope you have a good time! Glad to hear you enjoyed Circe! That’s on my TBR, and I’ve been looking forward to it. I have a problem with books that lack a plot, too, though, so I guess I’ll see how I feel when I pick it up. 🙂 Happy reading!

    Here’s my WWW post.

    1. Thank you so much, I hope you’re having a great time as well! And I totally get the problem with the no plot situation, but I guess it’s really worth a try! So good luck, I hope you enjoy it!
