I’M BACK EVERYONE – sorry for the ghost. I had exam season during the whole month of December and so I made the tough call to shut down writing and focus on my grades! Thank God, that is done now and I can focus on some well-deserved holidays, reading and YOU GUYS! And so, for the first time in a month, I had the time to pick up a book and I chose Sarah J Maas’ Crescent City and I couldn’t have picked a better Christmas read – here are my first impressions!

I’m 70 pages in and let’s just say: I’m fully committed. I don’t know if it’s the fact that it’s been a long while (way too long while) since I’ve read a good book (or simply a book at all, due to the lack of time) or that this book is simply FABULOUS in every way – but I’ve been devouring it all morning.
Sarah J Maas has done it again, I read Throne of Glass, and I wasn’t able to put it down and so far, I think this might be my favorite book of hers. I wasn’t sure whether to first read this new series or buy A Court of Thorns and Roses, but I simply loved the plot line: the hunt of a killer in a magical city with a new intriguing universe and slow burn. What could be better?
And to be honest – the plot hasn’t disappointed so far. It’s 70 pages in and even though the actual story only started 5 pages ago, I didn’t mind the longer introduction. I fell head over heels for Bryce, she’s awesome and witty and a Queen, and I can’t wait to get to know her in action. We all know that Danika would have to die but I didn’t expect it to hit me that hard – I hardly know her, I mean 60 pages and she’s not even the protagonist and I almost cried when she died. Their friendship was so pure and I can’t imagine the loss Bryce must be feeling… That to say, I am already invested, as you can tell.
The book almost has 800 pages and even though I’m sometimes hesitant to start such a HUGE book, I am super glad it’s that long because I already dread the day when I reach the last page: I can only say, read this book! So far, I’m blown: I love Sarah J Maas’ writing style, awesome detailing and a wonderful new world we get to dive into, Bryce as a complex protagonist and what I suppose will be a fast-paced and plot full of intrigues!
That’s it: I hope to write a lot of posts over the Christmas Holidays, since I am taking this whole week off and won’t do a SINGLE THING – so beware, I’ll spam! Happy holidays and happy reading!
I can’t wait to hear your thoughts when you finish the book! I adored this story and felt the same way about Bryce and Danika. Happy reading! 🙂
