Merry Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you had a blessed time with your loved ones and found many book under your tree! I mostly got books for Christmas, so here’s a list of the ones I got!
#1 A Winter’s Promise by Christelle Dabos

Funny story how I got this: I went to the bookstore with my mum the other day and be both saw and liked the cover of the series’ second book. My mum took a picture and got my the first book and it turns out it won a prize for best YA book of 2018. And it’s awesome – I’ve been reading it for the past two days (as far as I could manage with all the family gatherings), I’m on page 100 and the story is really gripping! First Impressions post to come!
#2 Five on Brexit Island by Enid Blyton

Obviously not written by Enid Blyton, instead by Bruno Vincent, the Enid Blyton for Grown Ups series is a fun 150 story of the Famous Five as adults discussing the current political situation in Great Britain. My mum got me this book because we found it at Waterstones in London and thought it was hilarious – thanks mummy!
#3 The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi

I have to thank my dad for reading my blog and getting me this book! I’m super excited and eager to get my hands on this one and finally starting!
#4 A Curse so Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer

Again, thanking my dad for the careful reading – I’m super excited!
#5 The Complete Works of William Shakespeare

I wished for Hamlet and my dad got me the complete edition because I said I wanted to read a book with a pretty cover – how sweet! I love complete works and this is my first one ever and I’m super thankful!
#6 The Oxford Book of American Poetry

I wished for some poetry and this is exactly what I was looking for! I didn’t want one book with only poems by one authors, but a collection of many famous ones! I also got Great Poems by American Women and Immortal Poems of the English Language – and I’m so excited, this is exactly what I wished for!!! I have many poems to read now!
#7 Modesty Blaise by Peter O’Donnell

Earlier in December, my dad got a Modesty Blaise comic for me and I’d never heard of the British Intelligence Agent before. Now I got another book and I’m super excited to start! This is a very old British series my dad read when he was young and he loved it!
#8 About Law by Tony Honoré

I’ve been wanting to study Law for many years now and this summer I read Letters to a Law Student and I really loved it – so my dad got me another book covering the subject and I’m excited to get to know the subject a little better!
#9 Mind Blind by Lari Don

From my one uncle I got this YA thriller which sounds super awesome! It’s about a killer who can read minds and the sister of the victim which has to work with the killer in order to discover a dark secret – and it sounds super cool!
#10 A Tramp Abroad by Mark Twain

From my other uncle, I got this classic book by Mark Twain which sounds great – it’s his journey through Europe featuring many many famous and beautiful places and I’m very excited to start!
That’s it – those are the books I got for Christmas! Thanks very much, mum and dad!!! I have a lot of reading to do, it seems and I’m more than excited (I’m repeating, or so it seems!). Tell me, have you read any of these books, what do you think about them – feel free to comment! Wishing everyone a great holiday and a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!
That’s a great collection and the Famous Five book seems absolutely hilarious 😂😂
