Shelf Candy Sunday – Weekday Memes

Let’s first of all appreciate these incredibly beautiful book covers I spottet during my stay in London. But anyways, here’s a small insight to the covers I find the most beautiful.

When I thought of today’s Weekday Memes theme, the first thing coming to my mind was this beautiful edition of Thomas Hardy’s Tess given to me by my mother’s best friend. I have to confess, I haven’t read this book yet but looking at it now and having in mind that I liked the other books given to me by my mother’s best friend, I have to read this book next.

During my early years, my dad would read the Famous Five books by Enid Blyton to me for hours, until we both knew them by heart. We didn’t read them in English, but to be honest, our old versions – they had been my dad’s and uncles before they were mine – are very beautifully designed and therefore I thought I’d include them although probably nobody reading this blog has seen this edition.

If anyone is wondering, these three books show Five on a Hike together, Five have a wonderful Time and Five go down to the Sea.

That’s all for today’s edition of Shelf Candy Sunday, I hope you have a great Sunday and for everyone who’s starting school tomorrow like me: thumbs up!!!

I'm a huge fan of Draco Malfoy, I love scones and tea time, I don't like horror movies and obviously I'm a huge book nerd.
