Let’s Talk Bookish: wrap up of the latest topics!

It’s been a while since I posted something, so hello September! The tragic truth is that the summer wasn’t as relaxing and blog-productive as I wanted it to be: I worked on (and finished) two presentations and wrote two 30-pages summaries of my main courses for graduation – and so I basically two full weeks with nothing in my head and the rest was work. And so I’ve missed a few things here and one thing I’ve missed the most are the awesome topics of Let’s Talk Bookish, so I’ll wrap them all up: how I encourage others to read, is three stars a good rating and my online persona! And not to forget: the discussion is as always hosted by  Dani @Literary Lion and Rukky @Eternity Books!

How I encourage others to read

I think there are basically two things I do and they are completely different approaches:

1. I fall into the, how some people call it, “nerd” category, but that is only because I have the strength to pull through. And so when people ask me how I get good grades, how I manage to write good essays I always tell them: I’ve been reading books my whole life, they make you concentrate better for a longer period of time, you can educate yourself and you stay focused. That’s the basic secret to good grades.
2. Second thing: I tell people about the wonderful stories I’ve read and just keep talking about these awesome characters and just give people good books I’ve read hoping it will inspire them.

Is 3 stars a good rating for me: no

I am a very emotional person, and so whenever a book is gripping, I give it four stars. And when a book was really great and I have close to nothing to criticize, I rate it five stars. When I rate it three stars, then there was something wrong with either the plot or the characters that really pissed me off (since that’s usually what I look for in a good book) and so that was not good for me. And, when I rate a book three stars, it’s often one I didn’t even finish.

My online persona and real life person

I would say the “Jane” I portray online and in real life are basically the same person, just a few tiny things:

1. I don’t really talk a lot about books in real life, simply because most of my friends hardly ever touch a book.
2. Not many people know about my blog, and not because I am embarrassed (because this is my passion and you should embrace what makes you happy), but because my surrounding in school except my closest friends wouldn’t understand and would not respond nicely to my blog and I don’t wish to stand in the centre of negative attention.
3. I don’t talk about everything on here: I have my friends and I pour my heart out to them and I don’t talk about super personal (and sad) things on here (not that I am a sad person, I am basically super happy and hyped every day haha, quarantine made emotionally glow up for some reason) and I don’t reveal any personal details like address or full name!

That’s it: I am back and wishing everyone a great start into the new school/uni year, my last term starts MONDAY AGGGRH!!!
