Let’s Talk Bookish: blog schedules!

I don’t know whether I am the right person to write about this topic – blog schedules – as I am not even capable of writing Let’s Talk Bookish on the actual discussion day, Friday. Nevertheless, who could turn down a fruitful discussion? Today I’ll talk about my usual blog schedule, whether I stick to it and then some pros and cons for me! And not to forget: the discussion is as always hosted by  Dani @Literary Lion and Rukky @Eternity Books!

My Blog Schedule:

I have three scheduled posts every week: Top Ten Tuesday because I love lists, Let’s Talk Bookish on Friday and then if my reading situation is interesting and I have something to say, WWW Wednesday! I don’t have any plan behind my reviews and tags, I usually post my reviews right after I’ve read the book and then the tags whenever I manage to take some time for a longer post because they usually take me more than an hour!

But do I stick to my schedule?

I try. I always try to make time on Tuesday to write my TTT post, and then always try to write Let’s Talk Bookish on Saturday morning, as I never have time on Fridays!

My con for a blogging schedule:

Stress. My blog is my safe space, something I do for fun. I love writing posts, answering comments and just spend some time with the bookish community. But one thing I can’t handle concerning my blog is stress. I always try to find the time for writing posts, but I don’t stress myself because I don’t want another obligation, and above all, to feel bad when I’ve had a packed week and didn’t have the time to either post or read. So I don’t usually take my schedule too serious, because I don’t need additional stress thinking oh god, I have to post today.

The positive side to a blogging schedule:

Being able to plan your week, to be organized. When it comes to important stuff such as school, family and friends, and my blog I am a very neat person. My room could tell you different stories, but I have my priorities. And it relaxes me to have some sort of structure and to be able to plan ahead because when it comes to important events, I hate spontaneity. It makes me super nervous. And so some sort of organization, a blog schedule, is awesome. But it’s a guide line, never connected with stress.

That was all – what do you think about blog schedules, do you follow yours? Have a great weekend, happy reading!

  1. I have the most random blog schedule ever, but it’s consistent and it works for me, so I’m just going along with it! I put the most effort into my Top Ten Tuesday posts, those can take 2-3 days to write.

    1. That makes me super happy! I need somewhat of a schedule (even though I don’t stick to it) that helps me to stay consistent because I need organization in my life haha! And wow, 2-3 days is a very long time, I don’t think I’d have the strength to pull through!

  2. In my opinion, blogging is about freedom. If you don’t post one day and schedule for the next, I believe it is okay and you shouldn’t put too much pressure on your shoulders (or only if it means a lot to you).
In any case, it was a helpful post. I’ve been considering having a schedule but for now I’m sticking to “whenever I want as long as I post as often as possible”. It’s good to know what it can potentially be like. Thanks ! 🙂

    1. You’re so welcome! And it really can be pressure sometimes, but I try to let it slide and then think “oh, I’ll just post whenever I have time”, but often I feel bad when I think about how many days I have not written anything… but as blogging is a hobby for me, I try to not take it too seriously!
      Happy reading!
