WWW Wednesday

It’s Wednesday, my last week of school (I know, here, the summer break is always super late) and the teachers are literally bored as hell. So I’m happy to escape all that craziness and come here (state of mind, kind of like). Here’s my current reading situation!

#1 What are you currently reading?

Yes, I am reading another Agatha Christie novel – The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. And I am loving it so far – I’m only like 20 pages in, but I can tell that it’s going to be another successful crime story of hers. I am incredibly happy that I’ve found a “passion” for her books – every time I start reading, I get completely hooked, a feeling I didn’t really experience this intense with a lot of books. When I’m further in, I will write a First Impressions!

#2 What was the last book you finished?

I only just read The Emperor’s Tomb by Joseph Roth, the most famous Austrian novelist of the last century. This was a very intense read, first because I read it in one day and secondly because it was just really sophisticated and demanding. It deals with the decaying society of the Austrian – Hungarian Empire before the first world war and shows the evolution of the von Trotta family and their loss after the war. It displays the mentality of that time, their patriotism and values and was just overall filled with sociology and history – very hard for me, but still a good read.

#3 What do you think you’ll read next?

Of course, I have my summer TBR list where I have a lot of great books that I absolutely have to read this summer – Circe, The Night Circus and The Unhoneymooners for example -, but right now: I want to focus on Hercule Point and therefore Agatha Christie novels. It’s great to have some books where there simply is just the crime – no romance, no private story – just the crime.

That’s it – enjoy your day and summer break!

I'm a huge fan of Draco Malfoy, I love scones and tea time, I don't like horror movies and obviously I'm a huge book nerd.
