Bookish Q&A with Alysha from @alyshabookblogs

I have been texting with the amazing Alysha @alyshabookblogs, she is absolutely wonderful and her blog as well, so please check her out – and we are planning on creating a tag together, but decided to question each other first! So here are ten bookish questions she asked me + my answers!

#1 Why did you start your blog?

I’ve always loved talking about books and before I had my blog, that would be in my head, talking to my parents for hours about certain books or plots or sometimes even aloud in my room where nobody could hear me – and that freaked me out. And because I really wanted a space where I can let out my bookish side without annoying people and where others could maybe even answer or notice me, I started to create this blog. At first, it was terrible and I realize now that nobody would have cared (had I had any followers) what I wrote, but I feel like I have developed and I’m moving in a positive direction (at least I hope)!

#2 What do you like about reading/why?

I love about reading that you can have a very intimate relationship with characters and feel like you have known them for ages and maybe that they are a little yours, while everyone else can as well. Another huge part is obviously that you can escape your reality which can be hard and not as joyful as books and just like that, you can find yourself in another world where you don’t have to worry – or have to worry about villains and wizards and dragons, but where school or family/friend problems have no value.

#3 If you had to choose one book out of all the books you’ve ever read, which book would it be and why?

I am going with Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare because this was the first YA fantasy book that I read and it opened a whole new world for me. I not only discovered the Shadowhunters world, but also Leigh Bardugo and Victoria Aveyard which are by far my favorites! Moreover, I love this whole series because the plot is so deep and I the characters are brilliant!

#4 Which book character do you want to meet the most?

Hermione would be the clear and obvious choice for me because she is like me (I don’t mean that I know everything and that I am super smart, but that I love to read and that school is very important, but that I also value friends above anything else!)

#5 What book/series would you turn into a film?

I would absolutely love to see the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer to be turned into a film because the many jokes, the characters, the atmosphere and the plot with cyborgs and space and Luna are destined for that! I could just really picture the crew flying their spaceship or Queen Levana on her thrown on Luna with Winter next to her! That would be magical!

#6 What is your favorite bookish romance?

This would be a terrible and difficult choice I would have to make – I won’t make it. My two favorite couples are Inej and Kaz from Leigh Bardugo’s Six of Crows because their relationship grew very slowly and also in secret and was just very fragile and I loved that. The other couple I have to choose is Emma and Julian from The Dark Artifices because (as I mentioned) that was the first romance I read and they are destined to be together and are the most adorable and best fitting couple ever!

#7 If you could visit one place from a book you have read, where would it be?

Hogwarts at the Harry Potter Studio Tour in London

It would most definitely be Hogwarts! I love old, majestic castles and buildings in general, which would also be one factor why I it’s my dream to study at Oxford University! And since these two schools have so much in common, it seems like the perfect choice! Furthermore, who wouldn’t want to be a witch for one day?

#8 If you could meet your favorite author, but only ask them one question, what would you ask and why?

I would love to get to meet Jeanne Birdsall, the author of The Penderwicks, which has been one of my favorite series since I was 5 and ask her why Skye and Jeffrey never get together at the end of The Penderwicks at Last when they would have been perfect for each other and made for each other and have basically always been in love, from the start of book 1 where Skye bumped into him and called his mother an evil and scary woman.

#9 What 3 book blogs are your favorite?

Besides from you, Alysha, that would be Ruqs @manybookishthings because we have the most amazing chats in the comment section and I am a huge fan of her reviews, then Kaya @afictionalbookworm because we see eye-to-eye on more things that I can think of, and last but not least Ash @onceuponmybooshelf because her posts are super creative and I love our chats!

#10 If you could change the ending to a book you have read – which ending would you change and why?

Great last question! I absolutely love Harry Potter, but I can’t stop thinking about the fact that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows could have ended differently. All those years, she left us believing that Snape is a total idiot and then we find out he has been protecting Harry while he dies? And then there is another, even bigger, tragedy: Fred! You can’t separate these iconic twins, that just breaks my heart! And Dobby – I don’t even have words for that!

That was it – I answered all of the questions and it was super fun to do! Be sure to check out Alysha’s part where she answers my questions and our soon to come blog post together! Have an amazing day!

I'm a huge fan of Draco Malfoy, I love scones and tea time, I don't like horror movies and obviously I'm a huge book nerd.

    1. Thank you! And I actually went to the studios when I visited London recently and they were awesome, indeed! I had soooo much fun, although I still regret not buying myself a butterbeer and a Mrs Weasley sweatshirt, but my mom said it’s too expensive haha
