Thank you, next – book tag

Thank you very much, Ash @onceuponabookshelf, for tagging me to do this fun tag – definetely go check out her blog! I used to be obsessed with this song (weren’t we all?) and so this should be super fun!

#1 Name a book that you said “thank you, next” to i.e. DNF’d

Geekerella by Ashley Poston was too much for me. I usually enjoy these types of books as a quick in between book to escape the fantasy worlds, but I didn’t enjoy this book. The whole Cinderella story was too unreal, too forced and I didn’t really love the characters, so I stopped reading about 200 pages in.

#2 Name a book that thought you love (i.e. a book you loved)

A couple of weeks ago I read Throne of Glass and I really loved it. I can totally understand the hype about Sarah J Maas. Like literally. I don’t really understand why I haven’t yet read Crown of Midnight, but I’m super excited to continue the story anyways. This book just had it all.

#3 Name a book that taught you patience.

So much patience needed in The Raven Cycle. I really wanted to love this series because the original story was so promising and Gansey and Blue are lovely and unique characters, but it was soooo slow paced. Like, they met after more than 200 pages??? Some protagonists meet after 20 or 30. But that wasn’t even the worst slow paced part. Book three completely made me mad and I stopped reading book four 100 pages from the end. I really wanted to love this series. I swear.

#4 Name a book that taught you pain

There was no end to my pain after finishing War Storm. Victoria Aveyard’s Red Queen series was so special and important for me and I was hoping for so much and had so high expectations and then when I finished the last sentence and completely loved the ending – pain. I didn’t want this series to end and so I’m happy for Broken Throne!!!

#5 Name a book that you loved at the time of reading but in hindsight you do not like as much anymore but from which you still learned some other quality

The Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer is probably almost everyone’e choice but it’s too accurate to not take it. I was obsessed with this series, I read eclipse nine times in a row (in a row, people!!!), that’s crazy. But now I just can’t see the books anymore. I can’t stand Bella and Edward, they drive me insane. But they still showed me to love characters and to appreciate a good book.

#6 Name a book you’re currently talking to, i.e. have the hots for

I’m crazy about a lot of books at the moment, but a book that completely swept me off my feet was Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. Sadly, I have not been able to finish it just yet, but plan to during spring break. The reason I’m so crazy about this one is because I never would have imagined that I’m able to enjoy a classic as much as this one???

#7 Name the book that gon’ last – the book of you – the book that helped you love yourself a little bit more

My Lady Jane is the book of me. Jane is different from all the other girls because she likes to read and doesn’t care about marrying – me in my group of friends where I’m the only reading girl and the girl who doesn’t cares about drinking, boys and partying. So I guess she taught me to love me for who I am.

      2. haha, me too… I was searching through booktube and found a girl who introduced me to both The Raven Cycle and Six of Crows and so I’m happy I listened to her even tho The Raven Cycle is not really worth the read haha, although I actually really like Gansey!
