The Folk of the Air – Book Tag

For everyone who has been super hyped these past few months waiting for Holly Black’s The Wicked King and was then super thrown away by its awesomeness! Here’s finally another tag!

Jude: a character who would probably kill you in your sleep

I can think I no other than Lila in Jennifer Estep’s Black Blade. She I literally made for that. And even though one shouldn’t encourage her job, I do love her very much.

Cardan: a character who seems like a bad guy but is ultimately more complex than you thought

I think we all know what happens in this book and that Snape is not who he seems to be. Always!

Locke: a character (or plot twist) that made you want to throw the book

Adam in Maggie Stiefvater’s The Raven Cycle will always be my most hated, most boring and “whyyyyyy” character. He just annoys the hell out of me. Simple as that.

Taryn: a character who deceived you

Did anyone else completely fall for Maven’s role play? Like that was the most unexpected outcome I could have ever predicted! Not saying I don’t love Cal, he was always the better choice and I was like “Why is Aveyard choosing that guy?”

Vivi: a book that was significantly different from the others in its series

If one counts this to be part of the Harry Potter series, than yes, it was completely different and I wish it was never written. Voldemort and Bellatrix???

Valerian: a character who just needs to die (or, you know, stabbed)

There is no better villain than Queen Levana in Marissa Meyer’s series Cinder. And because she is so perfectly cruel, I just want to stab her.

Oak: a smol character you would protect at all costs

Neville!! I know, he’s pretty bad-ass at the end, but he needs a little protection during the first books!

The Cruel Prince: a book that surprised you with a twist

Because I already talked about that major plot twist with which Victoria Aveyard caused so much confusion, I’ll choose that one thing happening during Cassandra Clare’s Queen of Air and Darkness where Emma and Julian are portaled to Thule. That was something I couldn’t have guessed at all!

The Wicked King: a book you thought was better than the first in the series

The Penderwicks on Gardam Street will always be my favorite The Penderwicks novel by Jeanne Birdsall. After the great start, this book got even funnier, deeper, more personal than the first and couldn’t have been written any better.

The Queen of Nothing: a book you’re excited for but know nothing about

That particular book! I know 0% of what will happen! Will Jude and Cardan finally be together or will they kill each other in the end? I seriously don’t know how to calculate his personality because seriously, how will he act after sending Jude to the human world? I don’t know and that freaks me out!

  1. I have to agree with you on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. That book was completely messed up. Voldemort and Bellatrix having a child, ew.

      1. I haven’t read the screenplay of it, but I watched the movie of the first one and really enjoyed the movie. I can’t wait till I’m able to watch the second one

      2. I haven’t read the screenplay either, but watched the movie as well! I didn’t really like it as much as the other movies because I felt like the story was missing for the better part of the movie. But it wasn’t that I didn’t like it. but I’m also really excited for the second one because of Dumbledore and Grindelwald and Nagini…

      3. I know what you mean. It’s about Newt and his animals, not much plot of somethingelse. It definitely was missing something. I’m dying to watch the second movie but it’s not on DVD yet. Hopefully like the other 3 movies are going to be good and expand the storyline
