2018 has been my favorite reading year of all times: I started this blog – which is now my favorite thing to do – and I read the most amazing books this year. Here’s my list of my absolute favorite books I read this year!
Six of Crows Duology by Leigh Bardugo
How can you not love this series? I have read so many reviews of other bloggers that I now start to think it’s one of everyone’s favorites! And there sure is a reason! The plot, the characters, the paste, the atmosphere, the turning points: it’s pure perfection!
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
I wasn’t sure whether to put this on second or third place because they’re equally perfect! But I chose The Lunar Chronicles because it has been so long since I read a great great series where I don’t have to stop after two books because the story has ended! I love the feeling of finishing a book, being sad about it, but then remembering I have three more to go!
This series is filled with the best characters, I would say they are one of my favorite characters in the whole world. Because each and everyone of them is so groundbreaking different, they make a perfect team! Whether it’s Cinder, Kai, Scarlet, Wolf, Cress, Thorne, Winter or Jacin: I love them all! Btw, Jacin has evolved to be one of my favorites!
My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows
This book was pure laughter for me! The humor is incredible, the story fantastic and Jane and Gifford are epic. There is not much more to say.
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
This book was simply mind opening. Nothing more and nothing less.
War Storm by Victoria Aveyard
There are so many many controversial opinions about this last book of the Red Queen Series but I loved this epic finale! I even heard there would be a new book coming out in 2019, Broken Thorne (which I totally forgot on my most anticipated list) and I can’t wait to read it. Anyways, back to the topic. I loved this book because up until the last few pages, I had no clue how this would end. I obviously knew that it wouldn’t end tragic, as it’s a YA book, but there could have been so many options for the book to end: and Victoria Aveyard chose this great one!
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
Although this book started out very very slow, the ending was pure outburst of emotions! I am extremely excited for the sequel and that sure is an indication for best books!
Top Ten by Katie Cotugno
This is a very cheesy book but there is no doubt that it entertained me! So yes, I’m putting it on my list!
Caraval by Stephanie Garber
At first, I DNF this book, which is why it ends up on the bottom of this list. But since you’re always smarter afterwards, I guess I made a mistake not finishing this book. To be honest, though, I have some minor mixed feelings about it. It was kind of slow at some points – but that’s nothing against the confusion and perplexity of this book which I loved so much. I doubted EVERYTHING. Everyone could have been a traitor, I didn’t know what to think of it. That was a pure rush!
That’s my whole list of all my favorite books I read this year! I hope you enjoyed the very difficult post of mine, it was very hard to decide, and have a great day!
I did not know that cover for my lady jane existed haha!
The hate U give and The cruel prince are definitely also on my list!
