Waiting on Wednesday

I could write this entry over and over again and still find books I’m dying to read which aren’t on the market yet. But I’m just going to go with the one I waited for the longest:

The Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare, you guessed it. I’ve been obsessed with Cassandra Clare’s world of Shadowhunters for three years now and I have enjoyed every single one of her books. I’ve been waiting patiently year after year for the new The Dark Artifices to be released and I can’t believe I still have to wait for December to read the next one.

The Dark Artifices is by far my favorite series of her, because I think it’s deeper and has a better story than the original Shadowhunter series. I am absolutely in love with the protagonist of this series, Emma, because she is smart, kind, emotional and just a hero every book desires. I also think this series is the perfect mix of everything I like in books: mystery, action, suspense, drama and romance.

I really love books where it’s all about a quest and this is what the first book started with: Emma Carstairs, a young shadowhunter, lost her parents during a war but believes the war wasn’t their cause of death. She is now living with her parabatai Julian and his four (soon to be five again) siblings in the LA institute for shadowhunters. At the age of seventeen, she finally finds a promising clue that could solve the mystery of her parents’ death.

What I absolutely enjoyed were the side stories beside Emma finding the murderer of her parents such as:

Mark, Julian’s half brother who is half faerie and half shadowhunter, returns to the institute as a bargaining chip from the faeries with whom he has been living for the past years. But time moves different in Faerie, and therefore Mark hasn’t aged – will he ever reconnect to his family again?

It has been five years since the events of City of Heavenly Fire and the shadowhunter world does not longer trust the Faerie. There have been numerous attacks on the Fey and    they are desperate to find out who is behind those attacks.

I hope I could give you a little introduction to one of my favorite series, I hope you enjoyed this post and have a great day!

I'm a huge fan of Draco Malfoy, I love scones and tea time, I don't like horror movies and obviously I'm a huge book nerd.
